Common Questions

Q. How long does a session last?

Newborn session's can last up to 3-4 hours. Studio & outdoor sessions last between 1-2 hours. However, I do not like to place any time restrictions on my sessions. I'll keep shooting until I'm happy that we've caught lots of great shots. The importance is placed on making the session as comfortable and fun for you as possible.

You can't rush art!

Q. How many images will I get from my session?

For a newborn session I aim to produce 30-50 fully retouched images for you in both colour and black & white. For a studio or outdoor session it's around 40-60.

Q. What are your prices?

A weekday session costs £500 and a weekend session is £650. This includes your session time, full retouching service and all your images supplied digitally on USB.

Q. When is the best time to photograph my baby?

I shoot the following stages:

• Maternity Session (during third trimester)
• Newborn Session (up to 10 days old)
• 4 months Session (once baby can lay on his/her tummy and support themselves)
• 7 months Session (once baby is sitting but before he/she is crawling)
• 12-18 months Session (once baby has started walking)

Q. What is the Lullaby Scheme?

The Lullaby Scheme is a set of 3 sessions at a discounted premium. Most clients tend to book a newborn shoot plus 2 studio sessions to capture their baby's first year. At the end of the scheme, you get a beautiful frame with an 8x6 print from each session.

Q. When should I book up?

I would suggest getting your due date in my diary around 2-3 months in advance, to save disappointment.

Q. Do you have all the props?

I have a whole host of hats, blankets, wraps, bowls, buckets, baskets, etc. All you need to do is come in with your baby and put your feet up.

Q. I have older children, can I bring them in too?

Yes, I would encourage you to bring in any siblings for the first or last 30 minutes of a newborn session.

Q. Can my partner and I have some photos?

Yes, definitely. There is nothing more beautiful then a mum and dad with their newborn baby.
